I graduated in sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art in 1981. A recurrent theme in my work is to represent the inner beauty of the mind and body.
I start each day with a walk or cycle, reflecting on the wonders of nature. I continue to draw regularly and life studies are an important inspiration to my work.
Working in glass has reintroduced me to colour. The pure excitement of the reflective qualities of glass fascinates me. Stained glass is treated in a contemporary way and fused glass has opened up new possibilities in sculpture.
I work in a fairly chaotic manner and thrive on new challenges.
