Brittney Wenham is an American abstract painter living and working in Glasgow, Scotland. Her work is concerned with feeling and reaction, bridging the remembered and sensory worlds. Through a process involving physical movement and material experimentation, her paintings are both meditative and somatic. The all-encompassing sensation of being in nature — the enlisting of the five senses — is what drives her to create art. The colors, the textures, the sheer quality of the air; they become permanently ingrained in memory, desperate to be intuited, a visual vocabulary by which deeply personal environments are formed.
